SUMMARY OF ART RESUME: I was classically trained in The Fine Arts since my youth.  My mother was an artist and her father before her was an artist.  She allowed me to attend professional art lessons with her regularly throughout my youth.  I competed in many local, state and regional artistic competitions.  It went without saying that I would attend a nationally recognized university Fine Arts Program.  After graduating from the University of North Texas (UNT), I commissioned artwork by creating animal portraits.  The realism paintings seen below are some of my earlier artwork that required this basic painting knowledge.  Art is my passion!  Although I truly enjoy the realism painting creation process, I have found that it limits my creative juices from flowing allowing me to dive deep into making art that is uniquely different.  I strive to create art that "gives back".  For example, I sometimes make paintings with high levels of texture so that visually impaired individuals can feel the artwork and tell what it is.  In these cases, I make Braille on those paintings stating what the painting is....such as Orange Fish or Tall Trees.  Those paintings are coated with clear coat epoxy and touching is encouraged.  That's not something you hear when talking about Fine Art.  I always try to provide color, depth and clarity with expressionism layered throughout.  For the most part, the art you'll see on this page was done with Pastel, Oil and/or Acrylic paint typically on stretched canvas showing mostly realism artwork. I am available for gallery representation and speaking engagements concerning The Healing Power of Art.  Let me know if any of you are interested and I will be happy to discuss anything you would like in more detail. Thank you for letting me share this brief ART RESUME. For more details, see the "About the artist" tab above.
